UAE gave information to Netanyahu regarding Hamas's October 7 attack

Nearly 10 days before Hamas's operation on October 7, 2023, the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, gave information to Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of the occupying illegal state Israel, regarding a possible major military move by the organization.

Citing the Israeli media Haaretz, The Times of Israel reported that after information reached the UAE President that Yahya Sinwar, the then head of Hamas in Gaza, was preparing a major operation against Israel, he directly contacted Netanyahu.

According to the report, about 10 days before October 7, Mohamed bin Zayed held an approximately 45-minute phone conversation with Netanyahu. During this time, he warned Netanyahu about Sinwar's possible major military move and stated that it could give rise to a widespread conflict.

Haaretz reported that earlier, Sinwar had sent a message through a Fatah official that if negotiations were not taken forward, he was preparing a 'big surprise' for Israel. In a subsequent meeting, he also spoke of preparations for an even larger operation.

This information later reached the President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed. Considering the matter important, he directly contacted Netanyahu.

The report further stated that the UAE President had also shared the same information with the then CIA Director of America, William Burns.

However, Netanyahu did not give importance to the warning given by the UAE. He told Mohamed bin Zayed that the situation in Gaza was under Israel's control, and if Hamas took any action, its target would probably be the West Bank. He also claimed that Israel was prepared to deal with any situation.

This information received from the UAE President was not passed on to then Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar or then Israeli army chief Herzi Halevi either. Both told Haaretz that they were not aware of such a warning.

A senior Shin Bet official said that if they had known about receiving this information from the UAE President, the previously received information surrounding Sinwar would have been evaluated with more importance, and the overall intelligence assessment might also have been different.

On the other hand, Netanyahu's office denied the entire report. They claimed that no such phone conversation took place between Netanyahu and the UAE President at the relevant time, and he did not receive any such warning from him.

However, former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett said that the published report regarding the warning given to Netanyahu before October 7 is true. Although Bennett did not disclose how he confirmed the truth of the matter.
